The Wengernalp with its sheltered sunny terraces is situated opposite the Northern glacial walls of the famous Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. The first mention of this delightful spot can be traced back as far as 1776, when the Wengernalp was praised in a travel report. However it was the awakening interest for the Alps during the 18th century, that led the Wengernalp to its world famous standing today. The long established Hotel Jungfrau is owned and run by the von Almen family of warmth and hospitality and are known for making ther guests feel at home. With only 24 individually styled rooms the select number of guests enjoy a high level of service and comfort. Originating from the 19th century, the hotel, has been tastefilly restored and mordernised in several stages and by today's standards is considered one of the most charming mountain hotels in the Alps.
