History
Over the years the time honoured Hotel Jungfrau at Wengernalp underwent a number of significant changes. Starting out as a simple mountain hut it was then transformed to a shelter providing food and drink then from the early 19th century it became a popular mountain inn. Later in 1865 it grew to be the existing Hotel Jungfrau that we know today. Many well known drawings, prints and photographs still exist and are testimony to these episode in Wengernalp's history which has been recorded by the late Kaspar von Almen, hotelier and patron, from 1958 until 2007.The story of the Wengernalp.
